When Allison's nose grew around age 13 and her peers commented on its size, she decided she wanted a rhinoplasty. Allison talks about the process of her nose job and getting plastic surgery at a young age.
15 year-old Allison tells Project Beauty viewers why she decided, at her young age, to undergo rhinoplasty. Plastic surgeons usually recommend that patients wait until they are at least 14 or 15 before undergoing rhinoplasty, as the nose may not be fully developed yet. But for Allison, her reasons for wanting to improve the size and appearance of her nose were very compelling.
Allison’s nose was abnormally large and she was suffering from self-esteem issues related to her nose’s prominence. As she describes, it would hang down in front of her mouth in photos or when she smiled, and she faced a barrage of jokes as a result. Her mother was in full support of her daughter’s desire, but insisted on a board certified plastic surgeon.
She also urged Allison to be realistic about her desire. The goal was to refine her nose, but not to change the essence of who Allison was. She stressed that it was important that to have a clear idea of how you would like your nose to look and, at the same time, realize that there are limitations to the procedure.
Today, Allison shares her story with others, via her YouTube channel, and has found support from her family and friends. Allison was thrilled with her results, and the smile shining on her face says more than words ever could.

I love that her mother supported her decision to get a rhinoplasty because the results the plastic surgeon achieved are nothing short of remarkable. In an age where self esteem is at its most fragile state, a rhinoplasty or other cosmetic surgery procedure can really go a long way in building confidence.
