Dr. Gore explains why good oral health is a significant indicator of a woman's overall health.

Dr. Gore:
When a person comes to visit a dentist and the dentist is evaluating a person’s overall oral health it’s so important to maintain oral health because there’s such a high correlation between oral health and a person’s general health.

For example, we know there’s a high correlation between periodontal disease and cardiac problems, patients with heart problems. We know there’s a high correlation between gum disease and diabetes, stroke, preeclampsia in women. So there are many things that by maintaining a person’s oral health we can help prevent other general health issues as well.
