Tips on How to Lose Baby weight

Prepare Mentally

One of the most effective ways I began to shed pounds was through shifting my frame of mind to behave the way it did prior to me having a baby. I posted pictures of myself prior to the pregnancy all over my home as well as pictures of other celebrity body's I adore. My mind would begin to shift my body's behavior and ultimately overall look. In the beginning of my weight loss journey, I would avoid looking at my body in the mirror so I would not remind myself that I am not in shape. If I did ever analyze my body in the mirror (like most women do), it would be when I put on layers upon layers of spandex body slimmers on myself and put on a sexy dress. This boosted my confidence and tricked my mind into believing that this is the shape of my body and not the belly bulge that was really there. Allow your mind to shift your body. Photo: Getty Images

Cardio

I would go to cycling, aerobics, spin classes, anything that kept my heart rate pumped for an hour. It's also great to take classes at a local gym because the presence of all those women working hard motivated me to keep going as well. I would also go on daily walks with my daughter, it's a great way to stay active and at the same time include your kids. Photo: Getty Images

Power Plate

This machine worked wonders for my abs. It's kind of like a stability ball but much more effective at stabilizing your core and using muscles deep in your abdomen. Photo: Getty Images

Green Tea

I'm not kidding when I say I drank and still drink at least one cup of tea every 1-2 hours. This helps me curb my appetite and I end up eating less if I drink the tea before and with my meal. Photo: Getty Images

Avoid Sugar

I really kept my sugar intake to a minimum, getting my sugars the natural way through fruits. I always have fruit snacks prepared in my fridge so when I'm running to an audition I can grab the Ziploc bag full of fruit and take it anywhere with me. Photo: Getty Images

Tomato and Cucumber Salad

I absolutely loved making salads with exclusively tomatoes and cucumbers with a dash of salt and some olive oil. This is perfect because it contains the combination of all the vitamins and antioxidants of fruit and the Omega-3 and 6 Fatty acids that are so healthy for you! I would eat this for dinner on many occasions and never to this day get sick of it. Photo: Getty Images

Yogurt

I would eat specifically Greek yogurt with almost everything. For additional health benefits, I throw in a few teaspoons of ground flax seeds for added Fiber and Omega 3 and 6 fatty acids. Photo: Getty Images

Eat Good Fats

People tend to forget sometimes that you need fat to burn fat so they abstain from any fat in their diet and wonder why they aren't losing weight. Adding something as simple as ground flax seeds into your yogurt or cereal a few times a day will provide your body with the fat necessary to burn fat. By Natasha Alam Photo: Getty Images
