Monica:

Now that I have been clean and sober for 23 years, I don’t have to lie anymore, and that’s probably the biggest thing because there’s so much shame around the lying. I lead a normal life, a healthy life. I like who I am. I am a functioning human being in society. I am not a taker. I am a giver because as an addict you are an absolute taker.

I try and do everything to get my story out there and help other people, and when you do that, it all comes back to you. It really does, and life just couldn’t be better.
