Joanne:

My name is Joanne. I am a patient of Dr. Gong’s. I experienced dry eyes and I would like to share some of my symptoms with you.

Waking up in the morning my eyes started being very burning and watery and I went into the doctor, never had problems with dry eyes before, never had allergies or anything like that, so it was unusual; blurry where I had to rub my eyes just to see.

She did an exam. My eyes were definitely dry and I’ve had to try numerous drops and stuff to try to get it under control because it winded up happening everyday throughout the day.

Dr. Gong did some research on why I probably all of a sudden onset of dry eye. I do have heart disease and I do take medication for it and one of my medications is what’s causing probably my dry eyes.

So the medication I suspect that is causing my dry eyes is Hydralazine that I take for my heart disease. So therefore, not wanting to stop taking that medication I just take care of my dry eyes.
