Martina Navratilova Has Breast cancer

Martina Navratilova, tennis legend announced Wednesday she has been diagnosed with early stage breast cancer.

People.com reports that Navratilova, 53, cried upon diagnosis “when a biopsy came back positive after a routine breast exam ….”

Navratilova was diagnosed with non-invasive form of breast cancer called ductal carcinoma in situ, or DCIS.

The tennis great said she was shocked by the diagnosis but her prognosis is considered excellent because of early detection, ESPN reports.
