WNBA center-forward Kara Braxton explains how she acts as a positive role model for her son and other children watching her on the court.
Kara Braxton:
I am a positive role model every day when I step out on the court. Kids watch me play all the time. My son watches me play all the time so I think it’s very important for me to be as positive as I can. You will see me if a play goes good or bad, you will always see me with a smile on my face; the commentators say it all the time. I mean, I have a very big energy, personality, big smile.
It’s important for me to be a positive role model because I have a son. He looks up to me every day. He has friends and his friends look to me and look to him and ask him questions so it all comes back to him when I come out on the court and I give my teammate a high five I see him doing that in his basketball games, in his football games and I want him to be a positive role model just as I am.
