Top 4 Reasons Why Turning 30 is Great

Years ago, a slightly older co-worker shared with me that she thought being 30 years old was great. Being thirty-something beat out the teen and twenty-something years. Her main reason was she no longer felt that she had to behave to please others and gain their acceptance. She was who she was, take it or leave it. Two decades later, I agree that she was right. A query of a recent QVC survey results and various blogs led me to find four top reasons why being thirty-something is great.

Developed Confidence

Of the 2,000 men and women who responded to the QVC survey, 70 percent ranked confidence as the most important factor in making a woman attractive. Over half of the women agreed that as they aged, they shed their insecurities, possessed more self-confidence, and felt more attractive. Susan Leeson, marketing director for QVC commented,” This research shows what many have always suspected…real beauty is more than just looks, but a combination of confidence, style and personality too.” By age 30, most women are more comfortable with who they are, both socially and professionally. You spend less time worrying about what other people think of you. You are less afraid to seek your own destiny, your own way, no matter how different that may be.

Gained Independence

By now, you have acquired some wisdom and made a few mistakes along the way. You are able to make decisions on your own. Finally, you are taken seriously and treated like an adult. But you are still young enough to try new things and reinvent yourself. You probably have reached your career goal and can enjoy the independence that comes with a degree of financial security and professional success.

Achieved a Sense of Style

Style is a contributing factor to a woman’s beauty. It is the outward expression of the inner being. It is the combination of how you dress, talk, act, and decorate your surroundings. By the time you reach the age of 30, you will have reached a level of maturity to know who you are, what you like and dislike, and have the confidence to project your own personal sense of style.

It’s Just a Number

Turning 30 once carried the stigma of being over the hill. Age is a state of mind. You can let a number make you feel old or you can embrace each day with vitality and be young in mind and spirit. Remember this when you are feeling a bit down about your age - Angelina Jolie is 34 years old, Kate Hudson is 31 years old, and Venus Williams is 30 years old. Like a fine wine, we only get better with age.
