Healthy Workplace Month is an initiative led by the National Quality Institute and the Canadian Centre for Occupational Health and Safety that encourages employers to provide a healthy work environment. It takes place every October with the intention of encouraging employers to develop, promote and execute programs and activities to benefit their employees.

This year focuses on taking action to improve the health of our minds, bodies and workplaces. Each week highlights a theme relating to feeling Great about life - at work, with family & friends, at play and giving back to communities.

Companies can register their group initiatives and employees can track their participation, earning companies points towards different awards. Overall, it's a fun way to encourage a healthy lifestyle.

We value and respect the experiences of all of our HERWriters, but everyone is different. Many of our writers are speaking from personal experience, and what's worked for them may not work for you. Their articles are not a substitute for medical advice although we hope you can gain knowledge from their insight.
