Allie:

If a woman suspects that she has gastroparesis I would originally go to, if you have a gastroenterologist and let them know that you were reading the symptoms and you think that you might have this disease.

There are a number of tests that they can do to look for it, the number one being the motility study that I was discussing, that you eat an egg sandwich with radiation in it and they do x-rays every two hours to see how it’s passing through.

However, a lot of doctors don’t know about the disease and so if you bring that up, since they don’t know about it, they might not go about the right channels for that.

Our organization does offer a list of all of the gastroparesis doctors in the United States and also some in Canada and Mexico for people to be able to go and get their right testing done.

If you’d like to find a doctor in your area go to www.helpforgp.com and visit our patient resources.
