abdom pain, right lower abdom- debilitating pain

By October 28, 2011 - 9:10am

Had same symptoms as many described. Given Antibiotics, had right ovary + tube removed, IBS diet, maybe colitis, colonoscopy, it's in my head, Bactrin/Flagyl helped with "outbreak of Diverticulitis".
I started my own research.
I determined it was in my intestines. Took LACTAID and massive PROBIOTICS(13 to 18 Billion units per capsule, not yogurt), cut out dairy, got juicer and made fresh mostly green veggie drinks. After several weeks, pain went away, intestines feel good. Cannot eat rough food like nuts, corn.
That's my story after years of pain.....

Mandi, I was wondering what kind of tests did the hospital run when you went in for the pain?
I was put in the hospital for 4 days for severe chronic abdominal pian on my right side. I also had severe nausea, vomitting, and diahrrea. all the tests show nothing is wrong, everything is normal. This past Friday (10/4/11) I went back to the ER just as my doctor told me to. One physician told me there could be problems with my appendix that is not showing up on the cat scan or any other tests, so I was admitted to see a surgeon. The next morning a different doctor comes into my room and asks me what I am doing there and when I started explaining my problem, he told me "there was nothing wrong with you and you are out of here." What advice can you give me when it comes to testing for this type of pain?

Pain in your right side can be many things.... Liver, gallbladder, Appendix, Overies. It depends on where your pain is located and the type of pain. Sometimes test can over look problems. For example I have had my gallbladder, Overies, and Appendix removed. I still was getting really sick doctors ran lots of test and I was hospitalized for almost a month from pain. They told me I had Crohn's & Celeac. So I changed my way of eating and lifestyle to help my conditions. 2 1/2 years later I had another really bad spell, went to the hospital and found out I had a huge cyst in my intestines. So they rushed me into surgery to learn that not only was there a cyst in my intestines but my appendix had ruptured a long time ago and had been filling me full of poison. They had to take everything in my abdomen out and clean it. They ended up removing a large section of my intestines. I laid 14 days with my stomach open and being cleaned out over & over again. Here I am three months later and feel WONDERFUL! Come to find out I don't have Crohn's & celiac it has been my appendix this entire time but because they removed in back with my hystroectomy no one ever thought about my appendix. The only answer is when they removed it there was a small piece left in and it grew to the point it ruptured. So if you have pain in your right side, stay on top of it! Make sure you talk to your doctor!
