Hi glenda2244

Thanks for your post and I am sorry it has taken so long to get back to you; sometimes posts just slip through the cracks.

We have lots of information about GERD (acid reflux). Here are some ways to avoid it:

High-fat foods
Fried foods
Spicy foods
Onions and garlic
Citrus fruits
Carbonated drinks

Eat smaller portions.
Allow at least 2-3 hours between meals and lying down.
Lose weight .
If you smoke, quit .
Avoid belts and clothing that are too tight. This may increase pressure on the abdomen.
Elevate head of bed 6-8 inches.

You can read lots more on our GERD page here: http://www.empowher.com/condition/heartburn-gerd

On this Group, there has also been talk of switching to a gluten free diet to stop GERD - you can read about this kind of diet here: http://www.empowher.com/celiac-disease/content/what-do-i-eat-gluten-free

How are you feeling now? Are you still experiencing the reflux?
