I think everyone has different stages with which they're afraid of aging. Some people embrace it gracefully. I like you did not and still do not.
I think once I reached 21, I started fighting it everyday. I know it sounds ridiculous but I started sunscreen and lotion everyday. I hate aging. I'm not sure if it's because my mother died when I was 14 or what it is. But I am not 38 and lie about my age or just do not mention it. It's a running joke for the most part with my family and close friends.
I think it's okay to worry a little. Do things that make you feel better about aging. Everyone has their "thing"

I'm 49. Remembering back when first diagnosed at age 45 with bleek prognosis, looking around the chemo room I was the youngest most days and my mind would drift to wishing I was 80/70/60 instead of in my mid-40s...then began to hope to make it to 50...a few more months, God willing, I'll be 50. Health is your best wealth.

That is a great attitude keep it up. Being 40 did not bother me but this year I will be 55. Now that is a bit scary. I will be able to go to Shoppers on seniors day for discounts. The fact that I will be considered a senior is a reality check. Is it time to dress differently? How do I cut my hair to look younger? I don't feel old. Is it time to wear the one piece bathing suit? Are there any rules?
