I have endometrosis since I was 18. I was recommed to have a hyster. I refused. I now have a beautiful 5 yr old daughter. I went through menopause 2 and 2 miscarriages. Now I want another baby. I had one injection of depo provera in Feb of2011. I have not recieved my period back and I have been on two rounds of provera to induce my period. It hasnt worked. My partner and I are having sex to concieve my second child. What is going on with my body, im getting so discouraged with it and my doctor. What can I do differently? I have had several urine tests stating negative and a blood test in August 2011 also come back negative. The second provera was finished August 25,2011. What can I do now, still no period? could I be pregnant? Please someone help!!!!

Hi raylady

I know this is frustrating for you, I can "hear" it in your written voice and I'm sorry that you have to go through this. I don't blame you at all for wanting a second child- that's a great (and attainable) goal.

You can get an ovulation predictor test in the same place as pregnancy tests are, at any drug store or in a grocery store, usually near the pharmacy section.

Since you had sex on August 25 and 26, it's very unlikely you would know already. It actually takes 10-14 days for you to get pregnant, after you had sex. Therefore you need to wait at least 14 days after you have had sex to test.

Additionally, you may not be having enough sex! Having sex every other day for at least a week between days 10-17 of your cycle is a good idea. Using an ovulation prediction test can help but generally, having sex every other day on a regular basis (especially if you don't know your cycle) will be your best bet to catch your 24 hour ovulation time. But please remember that these things take time. It can take a couple a full year to get pregnant even when there are no medical issues involved.

Hi raylady

If you think you may be pregnant, take a test or call your doctor about a blood test.

I know it probably seems like a long time but you only started the provera about 6 months ago and have just finished your second round. Your body may need more time. Don't get discouraged!

How old are you, raylady? And how long did it take you to get pregnant with your daughter?
