Thank you Davina!

I agree that patient voices are what should turn the wheels of the issues of infertility. I do know of one person currently facing the realization of infertility and a couple of others who are facing secondary infertility - unable to have a second child. These women really get blown off with "well, at least you had ONE" as if having a second should be an accident or an afterthought. I know of a small group who only ever wanted one child - the rest deeply desired at least one more.

Another issue is that it's still something women don't want to talk about. I don't blame them since why should any of us have to talk about personal issues in our lives but some don't even want to talk to their doctors. That's not all that common these days, fortunately, but it's still there. Male infertility (in some countries and even in some states here in America) - is not talked about at all!

Another question I have - should infertility treatments be given financial assistance?

I do hope other women give their input!

Hi Susan,
Empowher has created this incredibly resource and I'd like to first thank you for making this group work.

I'd love to see some interactive brainstorming. The individuals who participate on your website not only have questions, but they have answers, even if they don't know it.

For example, I'd love to hear from those facing infertility. I imagine most would have an opinion on what needs to be done to educate the public about infertility or when do they think it's most critical to receive treatment for this condition.

I hope you agree, it is the patient voices that will bring about change and support for the infertile community.

All my best,
Davina Fankhauser
