Know a good gynecologist for hormone replacement in the valley who takes insurance?

By July 28, 2012 - 2:48pm

I'm trying to find a good dr who is skilled in treating menopausal symptoms.
Also, because I have mood swings, drs have told me I have anxiety problems, but
I wake up with drenching sweat and cold. I also have vaginal irritation.
I am 60, had a total hysterectomy including ovaries 30 years ago, and I recently lost a lot of weight. I was on vivelle dot .05, but the drs here have taken me off, changed types, lowered and raised my estrogen.
I'm a mess with severe hot/cold that wake me up and mood swings.
I just started biest cream .25 twice a day which my dr increased to .3, but it's being filled at the compounding pharmacy.
Haven't found a good dr yet.
Wil I ever feel better?

The North American Menopause Society (NAMS) is a very reputable organization that does certification for providers (physicians and nurse practitioners). The certification is quite rigorous and includes an in depth understanding of HT. Go to www.menopause.org, on the home page, top tab go to 'For Women' and then to 'Find a Menopause Practitioner/NCMP'. If you enter your zip and miles radius they will list all those certified in your area. This would be a great place to start.

Hi dollida12345

Thanks for your question! When you say "in the valley" can you be more exact as to what city/state you mean? If you mean Phoenix where this website was founded, I cannot help you but do hope our Phoenix readers can so we hope they can give their input here. It's also a good idea to ask friends and relatives or ask your primary doctor for any recommendations she has.

Good luck to you!
