So does it?

I'm not turning 40 until next year, but already feel like I'm supposed to act older or be different somehow. What's really different for the "over 40" set?

My kids are now 20 - 28, which is very different from having 5 small children in the house. Makes for less responsibility, less hectic lifestyle, and more scope for re-learning who I am, outside of being a mother and chauffeur. :)
Menopause has arrived and I'm fine with that. I'm more comfortable with myself than I was before I was 40, by far. I don't have the legs I did in my 20's but I'm less insecure about them than I was back then.:)

Hi everybody.

My experience is coloured by dealing with CFS since before I was 40, and having been recovering over the last few years ... But with that in mind I'd have to say, I feel younger now at almost 55 yrs old than I did throughout my 40s. :)

I know when I turned 40 I felt liberated. Like somehow now I was finally an adult. I am going to turn 50 next May and while it bothered me in my mid-40's it's now not such a big deal. I know many vibrant and active women in their 50's. I had many health issues in my 40's so I'm hoping my 50's will be better. I know I feel more settled and sure of myself now than I did before I turned 40 so yes, I do think there is life and a great one after 40.
