This has the feel of a total fad. Hot pavement, glass, rocks and everything else. I think this is just something to talk about to sell magazines.

I can't help but to laugh looking at those shoes! How ridiculous! If Matthew McConaughey wears them I guess why shouldn't everyone, rrrright?

I was wrong. Saw a guy hiking the Grand Canyon in those barefoot Nike things. He said it was awesome.

No, not at all. Where would you even run barefoot? It is a simply silly concept in my opinion, but interesting to read about none the less. I definitely give credit to those who can do it. I can't even imagine the pain, not to mention the calluses! Check out this study funded by Harvard University: http://barefootrunning.fas.harvard.edu/2FootStrikes&RunningShoes.html. Who knew "heel striking" was so controversial?! I like my running shoes and I'll stick to them, heel striking and all!
