Hi, Susan! Thanks for your comment. I've been on CPAP for several weeks now and have gotten pretty used to it. I start off sleeping on my back, but after a few hours need to stop . That's when my mask has to come off. You absolutely can not sleep soundly on your side with CPAP. I have been able to determine my apnea is totally obstructive and not central. That means that I have other choices available to me when I have the time. Right now I'm taking care of my 85 year old mother, so I don't have time for surgery. I am considering dental appliance.
