What's your story?

By December 1, 2010 - 2:33am

I recently turned 30. I have been dealing with the hormonal ups and downs since I got my first period when I was 10, yes that is early! I was not even diagnosed with PMDD until a few years ago. I am also Bipolar so sometimes life gets SO overwhelming for me. I have God and I have family who understand or at least they try hard. I have been hospitalized twice for severe depression and I think I have tried just about every med there is to try. Let me just say that BC pills are NOT a good idea to treat PMDD if you are Bipolar as they make this worse! So, enough about me, what's your story?

Christine,
I also have PCOS and my OB/GYN has told me that fertility drugs may be needed if my husband and I are looking to have a baby. We are keeping all options open right now and we are not in a huge rush. I am trying very hard to get myself healthy. My husband is concerned about the PPD as am I so we are not sure that now is the best time for a child in our lives and maybe things are fine just the way they are. Only God knows what will happen for us in the future. Thanks for your comments and concerns.

Hi Jrhopper09,
Is there a particular reason why you aren't sure if it's possible for you to have children? Do you have a reproductive health concern other than PMDD? With your history of depression, you may be at higher risk for Post-partum Depression (PPD). However, it's not guaranteed, so you may want to weigh your risk factors and talk with your doctor.
Let us know if you have any further questions.
Take care,
Christine

I am also curious about after the hysterectomy. I would not consider this an option for me though because I would very much like to have kids some day if it is even possible. My husband and I have been married for 7 years and right now we have no children. I am not sure that we ever will.

I'm interested to know how lolass39 has progressed following the hysterectomy. Did it give the results you were looking for, or still dealing with depression-related symptoms?
Please update us, we would love to hear from you.
