Feeling trapped is such a huge part of dealing with the condition of being transgender. So many factors in the life led in one gender can create challenges in transitioning to the gender we feel we are inside. This is where it is so important to have a good therapist and team of doctors behind you. Both are equally important and you should feel as if you are working with individuals who are respectful and empathetic to your journey. I know of so many transgender women who are various stages in their own personal journeys and with their own separate issues making the transition complex and ridden with challenges. Being married, having children, job issues, health issues.... the list goes on and on. Each person's journey is unique which is why having all the pieces in place to assist you are so important! If you are not part of a transgender support group, I would highly suggest this. There is also a wonderful on-line transgender support site at http://www.pinkessence.com which was founded by Chloe Prince (you may wish to google her).
I wish you well in all things and best hopes for the future!
