Trying to conceive

By October 27, 2011 - 7:09am

My husband had a vasectomy reversal in april and since then we have been trying to conceive. No luck yet..... We know we are both fertile, but we just cant seem to get pregnant. Are there any pointers anyone can give us that may help? I also have irregular periods, and 2 months ago i thought i was pregnant as my period was over a month late, was excited until i finally got my period :( We really want children and are trying to avoid IVF. Anyone have any advice?

Hello Kcagg:

I have found that many people seem to be a little more successful conceiving using fertility monitors or ovulation predictors in conjunction with temperature charting. Many times women assume they know when they're ovulating when in actuality are no where close; not saying this is your issue but knowing when you ovulate is obviously the key to conception.

Also, did your husband have a sperm analysis done after his vasectomy reversal?

Additionally, if your cycle is irregular fertility monitors and charting would assist you greatly.

Good Luck.....
