Candace provides tips for women who are also struggling with hair loss.
I think when women first realize that they are losing their hair, we are in the new era where there are more options for women. So, if a woman realizes that her part’s thinning or widening actually, if her ponytail is now becoming thinner, if she is noticing more hair in her sink around the brush, she should take these concerns to her doctor. She should bring it to the attention of her medical specialist and say, “These are the signs that I have that my hair is thinning. I noticed, you know, more hair in the sink, more hair in my brush. I noticed my part widening,” and just ask their advice to run some tests and there’s going to be certain things that the doctor should ask such as, “Have you started or stopped any medication? Have you recently had surgery? Are your menstrual periods very heavy? Are you losing a lot of blood? Did you recently have a baby? Have you started or stopped any even vitamins and herbs along with other medications?”
So there’s a checklist that, you know, he should ask and you can even ask yourself, you know, has there been anything different that you’ve done that could cause hair loss or temporary hair loss.
The other thing for a woman to notice is look around your family. Are there a lot of people in your family who have thinning or bald heads, and if so, then there’s a very good chance that you will have some thinning as you get older and it’s on both the mom’s and the dad’s side. So if mom’s dad was bald and mom still had thick hair you have a higher chance of losing hair, the more people you see in the family.
