Dr. Bowden shares the foods you should buy to eat healthy.

Dr. Bowden:
My name is Jonny Bowden. I am a board-certified nutritionist and an expert in weight loss, health supplements and empowering people to get really good information that they can use for their own self-care and longevity.

Purchase food that their grandmothers would have recognized as food.

That means food that doesn’t come with a bar code or food that doesn’t look like it’s something that just was created for the NASA space program and it doesn’t have lots of unpronounceable ingredients.

So on the simplest level it’s food, I call them the Jonny Bowden four food groups – food you could hunt, fish, gather or pluck.

If it grows on a tree, if you can pluck it off the ground, if you could have hunted it or fished it in a short amount of time, it’s probably good for you.

That doesn’t mean that everything that comes in a package with a bar code is bad for you, but it means that the bulk of our diet should be whole foods.

And by whole I simply mean stuff that has a lot of color, stuff that was alive, stuff that would spoil if you left it outdoors, food that really has enzymes and minerals, nutrients and fidochemicals and all the things that fuel our body and our brains.
