Carole Baggerly explains how women who fear the sun can get enough vitamin D.

Carole Baggerly:
Take plenty of supplements. I mean, they are safe. Vitamin D3 cholecalciferol is perfectly safe. If you are terrified of the sun the thing to pay attention to, to me, is covering your face. I mean, the face is a very fragile, very heavily exposed part of the body. And don’t burn, period.

And beyond that, if there’s any other additional problems that you have, medical problems with the sun, certainly pay attention to them with your doctor. But the sunscreen campaign has worked too well and it’s keeping people out of a very healthy environment.
