Registered Dietitian Maria Kinirons:

There could be emotional aspects to that. You know, men, you know, and also women are much more concerned about appearance and have so much, sort of, influence from society in how they look. There’s so much more impact for them in terms of how they look. So, there’s a pressure there that men don’t necessarily have, and it’s just there the difference in makeup too. Men are much more focused when they start, and of course just physically, because men have so much more muscle mass, they lose quicker than women, also.

So for women, it’s a slower process and can sometimes be frustrating for them, but bottom line is you just have to stick with it.
