You Don't Need Stacker-Type Supplements For Weight Loss

Stacker-type weight loss supplements use the “appetite suppressant” and “extra energy” approach to help you lose weight. Stacker-type supplements did contain ingredients like caffeine, ephedra and aspirin (the stack). These products changed in 2004 when ephedra was banned by the U. S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) for use in over the counter products.

Ephedra was found to be a dangerous substance that had the effects of adrenaline on the body. Some people experienced medical problems like high blood pressure, heart problems and even death.

The makers of these stacker-type supplements have replaced ephedra with other legal substances. I’m sure that some are still using products with ephedra by obtaining them outside the United States.

First, depend on regular exercise and a healthy meal plan to burn fat and lose weight consistently. Building a lean body and speeding up your metabolism are the keys to keeping the weight off! You don’t need any weight loss pills to accomplish your goals. You need a good exercise plan, hard work and perseverance. Don’t get so caught up in losing weight that you lose sight of health and fitness! Make healthy lifestyle changes and you will feel your best and look your best!

Weight loss supplements will only give you a short-term boost at best. You need a long-term solution to live a healthy life.

The FDA has recently recalled 72 weight loss products due to "risky" ingredients.

"Some of the products claim to be 'natural' or to contain only 'herbal' ingredients, but actually contain potentially harmful ingredients not listed on the product labels or in promotional advertisements," the FDA said. "These products have not been approved by the FDA, are illegal, and may be potentially harmful to unsuspecting consumers."

The FDA went on to state that these products contained prescription strength amounts that exceeded the recommended dosage and could cause health risks. Reactions could range from high blood pressure, seizures, tachycardia, palpitations and increased risk of depression.

The tried and true formula will give you the fat loss, weight loss and health you want: regular exercise and healthy nutrition! Don't waste time and money on weight loss supplements!

If you just have to use weight loss supplements, do your research and check the safety of these supplements (pill, powder or fluid). Review the "Generally Regarded As Safe" (GRAS) list published by the FDA. Also, consult with your doctor and always follow the instructions on the label when taking any dietary supplement. There are no guarantees but you are smart to do as much research as possible.

My recommendations for health and fitness are always the same: regular exercise, healthy nutrition and healthy lifestyle habits.
