Dr. Sorof:

As a woman and as a cardiologist I see a lot of women that are turned away from ER, emergency rooms and clinics. They are told they are having a panic attack, that they have flu-like symptoms and then three days later they are having a massive heart attack.

It really inspires me to try to make a change. I think that a lot of the things that the American Heart Association with these new CPR rules, it really makes a difference if we all spread the word and when we see people who are really excited about what they are doing and how we are helping women understand their bodies and take charge of their own lives, it’s inspiring and I feel like it, it’s everything why I go to work in the morning. It’s a passion and I think I make a difference.
