Dr. LeWinter:

It's so common in people with insulin resistance or diabetes to have high blood pressure and many people, most people in the United States are inadequately treated, and it's been shown time and time again that treating blood pressure aggressively to certain targets is very, very important.

I mentioned some drugs earlier that can be used and which seem to be particularly useful in patients with diabetes, but you don’t necessarily have to use those drugs, there are other drugs which work quite well, also. The most important thing is to treat patients to targets, and I see time and time again, people that are not being treated adequately for blood pressure. So that’s an extremely important factor.
