Adrenals And Digestive System Key To Restore Core Energy

Dr. Carrie Louise Daenell figures the digestive system is a good place to start, when bringing a depleted body back to health. She refers here to chronic fatigue, which is a serious condition, though very different from another serious condition often called Chronic Fatigue Syndrome.

In dealing with chronic fatigue, a malfunctioning digestive system, and adrenals unable to produce the right hormones in the right amounts at the right times, can play a big role.

Dr. Daenell:
I don’t mean to be redundant, but I always start with repairing the digestive system for chronic fatigue. A lot of times chronic fatigue is secondary to a chronic systemic level of inflammation that will resolve itself when the digestive system is a lot more healthy, and so that is always a starting place for me.

I also like to make sure that the adrenal glands are healthy, that they are not overproducing cortisol but they are producing enough of the important hormones that give us energy and tell us what time of day it is. Like in the morning it’s time to get up and go and have the energy to face the day but at night, it’s time to be tired and fall asleep and get good restful reparative sleep so we can get up refreshed the next day.

The other thing I like to do, which connects to working on the metabolism in order to restore it to more vital place for healthy weight balancing for chronic fatigue in fibromyalgia patients, is to make sure that every cell in our body makes enough energy.

Cellular energy is like money to the rest of us. If we have all the cellular energy that we need, every healthy function in every cell will move forward the way it’s supposed to, including our metabolism.

So we won’t just feel energy in that fake way, when you take something it makes you speed up. We’ll feel that real vital core energy that also supports the muscles that are sometimes chronically contracted in fibromyalgia and allow them to release for the very first time. So sometimes I like to combine this type of work for my patients for the very best results.
