Nancy shares if support groups and the internet have helped her battle pulmonary fibrosis.

Nancy:
There’s a lot that, with pulmonary fibrosis that you can do to help yourself.

The Internet has been a wonderful tool to teach me deep breathing exercises, to hear about the different trials that are out there and the different treatments that people are trying.

It’s got me in touch with the people of the support group that I am in and that has been very healthy to talk to people.

There’s nothing like calling up someone during the day and saying, hey, I have this symptom, have you ever had that and that and nobody else knows what you are going through.

I think support groups are invaluable for the information and the teaching that they can do for you. It’s also helpful to know different people who are dealing with the same kind of issues, symptoms, life changes that you are.

And I have made friends, people of the support groups that I attend. I think it’s helpful to women to talk to each other and learn from them.
