Dr. DiCampli explains how our experience entering the world impacts the person we become.

Dr. DiCampli:
Yes, it does affect the person that we become. It affects how we assimilate to other individuals, how we react and interact with our parents and other beings throughout our whole entire life. And without that experience it alters it in some way.

It is hard to say what it would be like if, you can’t go back and have another birth a different way and compare but the hormones that are produced during birth, the environment that you are in, the amount of stress that is present in the birthing situation. In a home birth I feel that there is less stress. Obviously it is a difficult process but there isn’t added stress in the environment. It’s not a sterile environment; it’s very warm and loving and sometimes calm.
