Fighting Lung Cancer: CTCA Day

Today was a busy day at the Cancer Treatment Centers.

I spent the morning getting acupuncture and seeing various doctors. I was informed a couple of weeks ago that my oncologist is taking a leave for an undetermined amount of time. My new oncologist said that he was not coming back. It will take getting use to the new oncologist, but so far so good. It turns out that today I had to get Taxotere. I thought today I was just getting my weekly Erbitux, so I wasn’t prepared for the full blown chemo today. Dan came to be with me at lunch. Fortunately, I slept through the entire chemo session. I was up all night last night, so I think my body needed it.

My friend Carole who was visiting from Seattle left yesterday. We had a great time and it was fun seeing her. I took her to Sedona and we actually went for a short hike by Slide Rock. I ended up getting sick the day after we got back, so I think I may have overdone it a little. I was just excited to be outside and actually walking around.

We value and respect the experiences of all of our HERWriters, but everyone is different. Many of our writers are speaking from personal experience, and what's worked for them may not work for you. Their articles are not a substitute for medical advice although we hope you can gain knowledge from their insight.

Hi Melissa - You did indeed have a really busy day! I'm glad to hear from you again, and to know your friends Dan and Carole are providing support. Getting used to a new doctor will be another adventure for you, but I'm sure you'll handle it well.
Take good care,
Pat
