Anesthesia: Entire or partial loss of feeling from the giving of drugs or gases.
Intravenous (IV): Being within or entering by way of the veins.
Lymph nodes: Part of the lymphatic system that removes wastes from body tissue and carries fluids that help the body fight infection.
Lymphedema: Swelling of the arm on the mastectomy side.
Mastectomy: Surgical removal of the breast.
Prosthesis: An artificial breast form (or any artificial replacement for a body part).
