Reducing Your Risk of Hypothyroidism
Be aware of drugs known to cause hypothyrodism, especially if you already have other risk factors.
The one risk factor for hypothyroidism that you can compensate for is a diet low in iodine. Your doctor or a registered dietitian can help you to identify foods rich in iodine, such as shellfish and iodized salt.
