A hip replacement procedure usually will take anywhere from an hour to two hours, depending on how big the patient is, how bad their deformity is. So usually it’s somewhere in that one- to two-hour range.

She joined the orthopedic surgery staff at Mayo Clinic in Jacksonville, Florida in 1991, and since 2005 has served as department chair.
