VIDEO: CTCA Chariman Richard Stephenson - Mother Standard® Of Care, What Is This?
CTCA Chariman Richard Stephenson explains the Mother Standard® of care.
CTCA Chariman Richard Stephenson:
I would be happy to tell you what the Mother Standard® of care for us at CTCA is. I guess it is easier perhaps to talk about it in terms of how the patient experience it, but you are going to talk to patients and it would be better learning from their lips than mine. So from me first, the Mother Standard® of care is about what mothers would value and want someone to hear them say they needed, they wanted. Often it is just to be present for them in their moment of angst, in their of moment of pain, in their moment of excitement because they have got a discovery now that maybe there is something more hopeful, but to be with them in all ways that you know, you wanting to have the allegiance of your mother, would wanted to believe you cared.
So the Mother Standard® for us is do all those things that mothers value and don’t do any of the things that mothers would not approve. Stand tall to quest, don’t look beyond mother’s image and do the things that you know mother would approve you’re doing, and do them without fear of reprisal from anyone anywhere. If mother wants massage therapy and chiropractic care at her bedside in this hospital, she will get massage therapy and chiropractic care. She will get nutritional medicine. She will get herbs from Europe. She will get what she says, “Is important to me because I just know if I have that it will make it difference son, listen to me.” That’s what the Mother Standard® is for us.
