VIDEO: Dr. Matava - ACL Surgery, Will Medical Insurance Cover It?

Dr. Matava recalls if medical insurance will cover anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) surgery.

Dr. Matava:
The vast majority of insurances do cover it. In fact, I can’t think of any situation where I have had a procedure turned down for insurance reasons. Again, the cost of any surgical procedure is going to be affected by many variables: the surgeon’s time, the hospital cost, the anesthesiologist’s cost, the lab work involved, as well as the post-operative physical therapy.

For the most part, I suspect a person can undergo ACL surgery, with everything included, for between $15,000.00 to $20,000.
