Dr. McLucas:
When I was in medical school, I was told that fibroids did not cause infertility. Fibroids cause you to lose a pregnancy once you become pregnant; it becomes much higher risk of miscarriage. There are people who say that a fibroid inside the cavity of the uterus can have an effect on the ability of a couple to conceive. If you’re having a hard time having a baby, don’t necessarily blame it on the fibroid. Check with your health provider, it might be something else.
