Dr. McLucas:
I’ve always been interested in medicine we call minimally invasive therapy. That’s treating something that used to be treated by disfiguring surgery less than with that surgery, and uterine artery embolization is probably the crown jewel of my career in that area. I went to study with Professor Jacques Ravina, who discovered this technique in the mid 80s in Paris. I brought it to this country and it’s just very gratifying to see the number of women who have been treated by fibroid embolization over the years.
