Dr. McLucas:
Although fibroid tumors are almost never cancerous, the symptoms, what fibroids cause, can be sometimes life-threatening, other times just a plain nuisance. The worst thing that can happen from someone is uncontrolled bleeding. We’ve had patients who have come in here, who shouldn’t have been walking, they’ve been so anemic. We’ve had patients who have had their abdomen distended by a fibroid where at that point we have to say ‘it might be a cancer, you really need to have that abdomen looked at by a cancer specialist.’

So if there were a take-home lesson for any of your viewers to remember, it’s just if you know you have a problem, it’s not going to get better by waiting. Go see your health provider right away.
