Dr. McLucas:
Well, we know that fibroids are a disease primarily of women in their 40s. We know that they’re estrogen-sensitive. We know that 40% of women get fibroids, so when a patient comes in here and says, “How come I got fibroids?” My response is usually, "How come everyone doesn’t have fibroids?" Because when you have 40% of women having the same condition, there’s got to be something that is causing the likelihood of these to happen for any woman, of any age.

We’ve had patients as young as 18. We’ve had patients as old as 72 who have required therapy for fibroid tumors.
