VIDEO: Dr. Ramin Raiszadeh – What Causes Neck Pain?

October 16, 2009 - 10:50am 55 reads 0 comments

Dr. Raizadeh describes the causes of neck pain.

Dr. Raiszadeh:
The symptoms of cervical or neck pain involves the neck. So cervical spine means the neck. So most of the time a lot of patients who we see, who have neck pain, it could be from a car accident, it could be they had slept wrong during the night, but again in a position if you are leaning down, bending down, breastfeeding the baby, taking care of all your chores, a lot of desk-type jobs, that could cause neck pain, and neck pain and cervical pain is all localized to your neck muscles.

Now when you have arm pain, that’s when the disc is being pushed down, and it’s pushing on the nerves that go down to your arm, and that’s where it could go down to your biceps, your forearm, your hands, but in that could be a disc herniation that’s popped out. But neck pain, the cervical pain is localized right in the middle of your neck, and associated radiculopathy is the pain that runs down your arm.
