Dr. Wang:
My name is Jeffrey Wang. I am an M.D. I am the Chief of Spine Surgery and a Professor of Orthopedic Surgery and Neurosurgery at the UCLA School of Medicine. I am a spine surgeon and I only do spine. And I specialize in all disorders of the spine in the cervical, thoracic, and lumbar area.

Well, it depends on the pathology. Typically, women who have a herniated disc in their neck that’s pinching on a nerve, we certainly try all the conservative treatments first, but if they fail conservative treatment, surgery is a very reasonable option.

Dr. Jeffrey Wang, M.D., is the Chief of Spine Surgery and Professor of Orthopedic Surgery and Neurology at the UCLA School of Medicine. He specializes in all spine disorders in the cervical, thoracic, and lumbar area. His research interests include gene therapy for the treatment of spinal disorders, minimally invasive surgery for spinal disorders, bone growth biological proteins, and biomedical engineering of non-invasive spine surgery using high intensity focused ultrasonic waves.
