Dr. Wright:
Compassionate communication for yourself means really honoring the whole internal system, and with cancer patients, so many times they are involved in a variety of chemicals that they are either ingesting or radiation or surgeries or radical diet changes. The changes are so dramatic that if you don’t have compassion for the fact that this is a stress, this is a very stressful process. And understand that you are going to have to think about yourself and your life very differently, and be committed to that as a new way of being in love and kindness to first yourself, and then realize that, that love and kindness can then be radiated internally and externally, and that facilitates the healing process.
