Dr. Wright:
Women tend to not want to communicate their illnesses of any sort, and so it’s really important when something as dramatic as a thyroid illness where again you have mood swings, you have energy drops, that they have a well-being in being able to say, “These are things that are going on with me as information items.” It’s helping the family understand so they can think about her differently and not put the same burdens on her that she may have had previously, and being able to say, “I can’t do that much right now,” acknowledging certain temporary limitations.

It’s not forever; it’s for today, and then we’ll figure it out tomorrow. Energy may be different tomorrow. So being again, as conscious of the internal system as you possibly can, and knowing that it’s impermanent, with being precise in communicating.
