Deborah Kesten:
Really quite easily. Eat real food, real food, fruits and veggies and whole grains and beans and peas and nuts and seeds and lean, dairy, fish, meat, poultry. Real food, not a food product, and really take time to savor and enjoy that food.

I am always reminded of a show that I saw when I was watching Oprah, a particular segment, and we all know grapples with weight issues, and she was interviewing a woman author named Mireille Guiliano (I am not sure I am pronouncing her name properly). She wrote a book called “French Women Don’t Get Fat,” and she is also the CEO of Veuve Clicquot champagne. And during lunch she stops, goes to her separate dining area, and may or may not have a glass of wine and will have a meal.

Oprah was processing this as portion control, and I was processing this as fresh, delicious food that she was really tasting not in front of her computer.

So I am suggesting to really just have fresh food that you love, that’s healthful and tasty and satisfying and aesthetically pleasing so you know that you have eaten, that you know that you’ve really been nourished, and you’ve taken the time to truly nourish yourself.
