Phoenix-area women can get health screenings and a manicure too!!
Health Events, EmpowHer's new national online health events calendar, will launch next week. Here's a preview of the wonderful free, low cost and convenient health events that you can find on Health Events:

Scottsdale Healthcare’s Women’s Health Services is making it easier for busy women in the Phoenix area to get their health screenings done.
Through the summer, they will be offering a "Working Women's Wellness Package on Saturdays! This package combines a cholesterol, bone density and body composition screening followed by a manicure at the Essential Touch Wellness Center.
The screenings include an ultrasound of the heel to determine a person’s risk for osteoporosis, a cholesterol test, a significant risk factor for heart disease and weight check to learn body fat percentage and Body Mass Index (BMI).
Patients must fast 10 hours prior to their appointment. Nurses will discuss the results of the screenings, risk factors, preventative measures and nutrition.

Saturday, June 28, 7 a.m. – 12:30 p.m., Women’s Diagnostic Center, Scottsdale Healthcare Shea
Saturday, July 19, 7 a.m. – 12:30 p.m., Women’s Diagnostic Center, Scottsdale Healthcare Shea
Saturday, August 16, 7 a.m. – 12:30 p.m., Women’s Diagnostic Center, Scottsdale Healthcare Shea

Thank you for sharing these great women's health screening events. What a wonderful idea. Scottsdale Health Care is very progressive. Who would have thought to offer up such a great health screening for women and at the same time, get your nails done. I love that. It's like going to the spa with girlfriends. Only it's even healthier and I happen to think the spa is a very healthy thing to do.

Are the screenings covered by any insurance plans?
I've personally not heard of insurance plans covering screenings like this, but it might be worth contacting your insurance plan to see. I'd be curious to hear what you find out.
