Has Anyone Found a Sunscreen That Really Works for Them?

ASKED by dragonfly on July 3, 2008 - 9:02am

I have relatively pale skin and am looking for a reliable sunscreen. I came across this link yesterday and found that my stand-by products may not be giving me the protection I need. Has anyone tried some of these others and found success?

Thanks.

wow! thanks for this site! I was surprised to see that Aveeno was not listed.

The sunscreen that I use is actually an "everyday lotion", and then I also apply a sunscreen when I go outside for an hour or more. (The sunscreen I use is Aveeno, but I will try one of their other products listed on this site).

The good news, is the sunscreen lotion I use is listed as number 3 as being a good choice: CALIFORNIA BABY SUNSCREEN LOTION EVERYDAY/YEAR-ROUND, SPF 30+

I am fair-skinned also, so my lotions always have SPF, I wear a hat AND wear sunscreen when outside. Let me know if you try any of the products listed!

This was very interesting and informative, thank you for sharing! My favorites are Neutrogena Sensitive Skin Sunblock (rank 105, score 2) and Olay Complete Defense Daily UV Moisturizer (which I do use daily, rank 120, score 2).

For running, because it holds up to sweat, I like Bull Frog (rank 213, score 3 - yikes).

For extra daily protection, I use a mineral-based powder foundation with SPF 15. Now, if the UV-protective clothing was only less pricey!
