First it was Beyoncé and Jessica, then it was Kim, Kate and Jessica again. How do the stars pop back into their skinny jeans so quick? According to HollywoodLife.com,
new nom Kim Kardashian hopes breastfeeding will help her to lose weight.

Many celebrities are advocates of breastfeeding for lots of reasons. In fact, according to Shape.com, breastfeeding celebrity moms such as supermodel Gisele Bündchen extol the benefits. Bündchen expressed a strong and controversial opinion that breastfeeding should be required by law.

Shape.com also mentioned the perk of an additional 500 calories burned per day which could help expedite weight loss.

According to Parents.com, “Heidi Klum dropped her 35 pounds of baby weight by following David Kirsch’s Ultimate New York Diet Plan and cut out alcohol, white bread and other starchy carbs, coffee as well as dairy.” She is said to have exchanged those items for lots of veggies such as broccoli and cauliflower.

According to Nowloss.com, “Angelina Jolie claims Ginger Root and Garlic Tea helped her lose weight.” Other sites such as Fitsugar.com and LiveStrong.com tout the combination of ginger root and garlic tea for other benefits. Ginger root settles an upset stomach and garlic enhances immunity against colds and coughs. The duo does not necessarily increase weight loss.

Nowloss.com said that Kate Hudson lost 60 pounds in just four months by eating smaller meals per day and avoiding certain grains and sugary fruits.

According to Parents.com, “Jennifer Lopez lost 50 pounds after having twin by training for a triathlon so her caloric intake was higher. “ She consumed seven meals a day and ate whole grains and lean proteins.

Nowloss.com said that some celebs such as Melissa Joan Hart claim an occasional cheat helped keep them on track. Hart's favorite cheats were ice cream, chips and guacamole.

According to DoctorOz.com, “A cheat day can actually be a good thing and is said to stimulate the thyroid gland. It allows you to avoid feeling deprived which can lead to more cravings and ongoing cheating.” Just remember it is a cheat day and not a binge day.

Of course all of these moms worked out when their doctor gave them the green light.

Realistically, most of us are not celebrities who can afford to have trainers and assistants come to their house or meals delivered. My advice is to try fit in 30 minutes of exercise when your baby is napping. As for quick healthy meals, try to buy some already prepared options at a health food store.

One thing a new mom should remember is not to rush things or worry if weight loss seems slow. Four to six months after the baby is born is normal for taking off the weight.
